Whether

Whether privacy policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

Whether tells you what to wear for the hours you're out. It works without an account, and I (Rocío Espinosa, who makes Whether) don't collect anything about you.

What stays on your phone

Everything you tell Whether stays on your phone: your usual hours, how you get around, how you feel the weather, your check-ins, trips, packing lists and settings. I can't see it, and it isn't sent to any server. Deleting the app deletes it. You can also erase what Whether has learned in Profile › Privacy › Reset what Whether has learned.

Location

If you allow it, Whether uses your phone's approximate location, only while you're using the app, to get the forecast where you are. It's never precise and never used in the background. You can say no and pick a city instead.

Weather data

To get the forecast, Whether asks Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), a free and open-source weather service. Each request includes a location rounded to about 1 km, or the city name you search for. Nothing else is sent: no name, no account, no device ID. Open-Meteo's own terms apply to those requests.

Notifications and widgets

Reminders are scheduled on your phone, not sent from a server. Widgets show what's already on your phone.

Feedback

If you tap Send feedback, your mail app opens with a draft to the.whether.app@gmail.com. Nothing is sent unless you send it. If you do, I get your email address and message and use them only to reply and to improve Whether. I don't share them, and I'll delete them if you ask.

What Whether doesn't have

No accounts, ads, analytics, crash reporting or tracking. Nothing is sold or shared.

Children

Whether isn't made for children under 13, and it doesn't collect personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be here with a new date.
